Schoenherr, who they have know since 1976. They met in Mascouth, Ill. while
working with the Illini State Telephone Co. Vern and Jerry later went to
school together in Ames, Iowa. After a lot of talk and dinner at a local
restaurant, Letha and Vern drove on 11 miles to St. Charles and stayed
overnight at the Days Inn.
The next morning they drove on 42 miles to Swansea, Ill. Driving to O'Fallon, looking for highway T, Vern noticed a sign leading to Daniel Boone House. That would have been an interesting stop. See location on map. |
