The Ammunition Plant, was out of view when Vern and Letha passed through. cont.below
130 miles from Wichita and Shortly before noon on September 22, 2002; Vern and Letha crossed the Neosho River in Kansas, source for name of Sister Ship "USS Neosho". They had stopped at a rest area several miles back, with a great view of the valley at Fall River.
They next continued on to Joplin Missouri, 47 miles Eastward.

Vern and Letha also crossed the Mississinewa River in Indiana, source for name of Sister Ship "USS Mississinewa" in late afternoon of September 27, 2002

They also have crossed In 1985, the Truckee River in Reno Nevada, - name of Sister Ship "USS Truckee"  In 1978, the Hassayampa River in Arizona, - name of Sister Ship "USS Hassayampa" They have not crossed a river in Minnesota for the "USS Kawishiwi"
or river in Louisiana for the "USS Ponchatoula"
