Locomotive No.7, in the repair shop

This photo ( 2 pasted together) was taken by Vern Bouwman on May 20, 2001.
He had left his flash attachment in his aunt's car which was on the way back to Michigan.

It is said the #7 is not used as much because it uses a lot of water. 3000 gallons on each trip, in fact.
It also uses 250 gallons of waste type oil and operates on 200 pounds of boiler pressure.

No.7 is a 2-6-2 prairie type engine built in 1919 in Philadelphia, PA by the Baldwin Locomotive Works.
for the Prescott and Northwestern Railroad Co. of Arkansas.  Prescott is 45 mi. NE of Texarkana.
The engine and tender combined weigh 102 tons.
The tender holds 4000 gallons of  water and 1000 gallons of waste oil.
