August 63 to October 64 - Moline, Illinois Phone: 309-799-5691
This photo was taken when our friends Joe and MaryLou Kendrick visted from Waco, Texas. Joe and Vern roomed together in Temperance, MI. That's Little Joe by the post. :)
When we first got to Moline, we had to clean off the road mud.
That ladder was not too sturdy so that's when we bought the magnesiumn.ladder.
We still have it in Bothell, Washington.
Leonor Trailer Park was located just east of the Moline Airport. Vern landed there a couple times while flying on business in Daverman's Cessna 310.
While Vern was working in Port Byron -
Letha did what ever was necessary to keep the mobile home in shape. :)
In the winter of 63-64 - We had fun in the snow with neighbors Neil and Judy Schroeder.
Neil made the rabbit, Vern the Elephant.
The "PORT BYRON TELEPHONE COMPANY" map locates where Vern was working along a road in his car and he
heard that President Kennedy was shot.
