Iraqi landmines kill
BBC cameraman in Kurdistan

Kaveh Golestan, BBCs cameraman in south Kurdistan died when he stepped
on a landmine in the town of Kifri. The BBC’s correspondent in south Kurdistan,
Jim Muir, BBC’s producer Stuart Hughes, and a Kurdish translator were injured
in the incident.
A BBC statement said that Mr Golestan got
out of the car and stepped on to a landmine. He was killed instantly. Stuart
Hughes suffered leg injuries and is being treated at a U.S. medical unit
near Sulemani. Muir and the Kurdish translator were not seriously injured.
